Abronia

A genus of desert plants with pink or yellow flowers, native to southwestern North America, commonly called sand verbena.

Modern scientific Latin genus name from Greek 'abros' (delicate, graceful), referring to the plant's delicate flowers; -ia is a common botanical suffix.
