Formal agreements or treaties between countries or groups, or agreements that are in harmony with something.

From Old French 'acorder,' from Latin 'ad-' (to) plus 'cor' (heart). The word originally meant to be in agreement of heart, and it evolved into formal diplomatic agreements.
