Acetylcholine

A neurotransmitter essential for muscle activation, memory formation, attention, and the parasympathetic nervous system.

From 'acetyl' (chemical group from acetic acid) + 'choline' (from Greek 'chole,' bile). First neurotransmitter discovered, by Otto Loewi in 1921.
