Achromate

An organism or cell that is colorless or lacks pigmentation; alternatively, a lens system corrected for chromatic aberration.

From Greek 'a-' (without) + 'chroma' (color) + '-ate' (suffix forming nouns). Used interchangeably with 'achromat' in both biological and optical contexts since the 1800s.
