Activity

Activity is a situation where things are happening or people are doing things. It can also mean a specific task or exercise designed for a purpose.

From Old French 'activité' and Latin 'activitas', from 'activus' (active), based on 'agere' (to do). It originally meant 'the quality of being active'.
