Adenocellulitis

Inflammation of glandular tissue and the surrounding connective tissue cells, usually caused by infection.

From Greek 'aden' (gland) + Latin 'cellula' (small cell) + Greek '-itis' (inflammation). This term combines Latin and Greek medical terminology and was coined in the 19th century to distinguish inflammation that spreads from glands into surrounding tissue layers.
