To mix together; to blend one thing with another, often implying a thorough or complete combination.

From Latin admiscere (ad- 'to' + miscere 'to mix'). The Latin root miscere also appears in English words like mix, mixture, and miscellaneous. This verb became less common as 'mix' alone took over most functions.
