Aerophoto

A photograph taken from an aircraft or high altitude, used for mapping, surveillance, or scientific documentation.

From Greek 'aero-' (air) + 'photo' (light/picture). This term became standard in military and cartographic circles during World War I when aerial reconnaissance photography began.
