Aerosiderite

A meteorite composed primarily of iron that has fallen through the atmosphere from space.

From Greek 'aero-' (air) combined with 'siderite' (from 'sideros,' meaning iron). The term was coined in the early 19th century when scientists began systematically classifying meteorites by their composition and origin.
