Afrete

The cost of chartering a ship; the price paid for transporting cargo by sea (archaic nautical term).

From Old French 'frete,' related to 'freter' (to freight). This variant competed with 'freight' and 'freightage' as a term for shipping costs but fell out of use as maritime English standardized.
