Resembling or relating to African characteristics or features, particularly in physical anthropology.

From 'African' (from Latin 'Africanus') combined with '-oid' (from Greek 'eidos' meaning 'form' or 'appearance'). The term emerged in 19th-century anthropology to describe racial classifications.
