Plural of aftermath; the consequences, results, or effects that occur after a major event, disaster, or change.

Plural of aftermath, from 'after' (Old English æfter) and 'math' (Old English mæth, meaning mowing or crop of grass, from mawan to mow). Originally meant the second crop of grass in a season.
