Agamogenesis

Asexual reproduction where organisms produce offspring without the involvement of sexual union or mating.

From Greek 'agamos' (unmarried/asexual) plus 'genesis' (origin/creation). The term literally means 'asexual origin' and emerged in the 1800s as biologists studied reproduction.
