Agnomination

/ˌægnəmɪˈneɪʃən/ noun

The practice of giving or using additional names, especially honorary titles; also a rhetorical device using words with similar sounds.

From Latin agnominatio, derived from agnominare (to add a name to). It developed two meanings: the literal practice of naming, and later a literary device based on sound similarity.
