Albinism

A genetic condition characterized by the absence or reduction of the pigment melanin, resulting in white or very pale skin, hair, and eyes.

From Spanish albino 'white,' derived from Latin albus 'white,' plus -ism indicating a condition or state. The Spanish term was adopted into English in the 18th century.
