Alipterion

In ancient Greek contexts, a place where athletes train or prepare, often associated with gymnasiums or exercise facilities.

From Greek aleipterion or alipterion, derived from aleiphein (to anoint with oil) and the suffix '-terion' (place). Greeks rubbed athletes with oil before training.
