Allalinite

A rare mineral from the pyroxene group, found primarily in metamorphic rocks in the Swiss Alps near Allalins.

Named after the Allalins region in the Swiss Alps where it was first discovered. The -ite suffix indicates it's a mineral. The place name Allalins may derive from Celtic roots.
