Amanori

A type of edible seaweed or marine algae used in Japanese cuisine, often used to wrap sushi or as a seasoning sprinkled on rice.

From Japanese ama (sea) and nori (seaweed), literally meaning 'seaweed.' This Japanese culinary term entered English through the globalization of sushi culture in the late 20th century.
