Ambients

Plural of ambient; things that surround or envelop, often used in artistic or musical contexts to describe ambient sounds or background elements.

From Latin ambiens (surrounding, going around). In modern usage, especially in music and art, ambients refers to ambient works—pieces designed to create atmosphere rather than demand attention.
