A genus of marine iguanas found in the Galápagos Islands, the only lizards in the world that dive in the ocean to feed on seaweed.
From Greek 'amblys' (blunt, dull) + 'rhynchus' (snout, beak). Named by naturalists because these iguanas have characteristically blunt snouts, distinctive from other reptiles.
