Aminoketone

A compound containing both an amino group and a ketone group (a carbon with a double bond to oxygen) in the same molecule.

From amino- + ketone (from German Keton, from acetone). Emerged as chemists began synthesizing compounds with multiple functional groups in the early 1900s.
