Aminophylline

A medication that opens airways in the lungs, making it easier to breathe, especially used for asthma and other breathing problems.

From 'amino-' and 'phylline' (from theophylline, a compound found in tea and coffee). Developed in the early 1900s as chemists modified natural compounds for medical use.
