Amphictyon

A member of an amphictyony, or ancient religious association of Greek city-states that shared a temple and sanctuary.

From Greek 'amphiktyon,' literally 'one dwelling around,' from 'amphi-' (around) + 'ktyon' (dwelling). These councils formed around shared sacred spaces like Delphi.
