A relief sculpture or carved design where the image projects slightly from a flat background, or a composite image using layered colors to create a 3D stereoscopic effect.

From Greek ana- (up, back) + glyphē (carving, engraving). Originally described carved ornaments, but the term was later applied to 3D imaging techniques in photography.
