Plural of anamnesis; a patient's report of their medical history or the process of recalling and recounting past medical events.
From Greek anamnesis 'recollection' (ana- 'again' + mnesis 'remembering'). The term was used by Plato to describe remembering knowledge from previous lives, later adopted by medicine to mean taking a patient's history.
