Anaspidacea

A taxonomic family or superfamily of small crustaceans without hard external shields, including brine shrimp relatives.

From Anaspida + -cea (Latin suffix for grouping organisms). Scientists used this term to classify crustaceans that lacked the heavily calcified armor of other crustacean families.
