Anecdota

A collection of anecdotes; unpublished or secret stories, especially historical ones.

From Greek 'anekdotos' (an- 'not' + ekdotos 'published'). Originally referred to Procopius's secret stories about Byzantine emperors, then generalized to mean any collection of unpublished tales.
