Angiocarpic

Relating to or describing a type of fungus where the spore-containing structures develop entirely enclosed within a protective outer layer.

From Greek 'angeion' (vessel/case) + 'karpos' (fruit). The term combines the prefix for enclosed structures with the botanical term for fruit, developed in the 19th century to classify fungal reproductive methods.
