Anhydridize

To convert a chemical compound into its anhydride form by removing water molecules.

From anhydride + -ize (to make or cause to become). The verb form was created in late 1800s chemistry to describe the active process of removing water from compounds, parallel to similar chemical verbs like oxidize or hydrogenate.
