A rare copper oxide mineral with the chemical formula Cu₅O₄(OH)₂, found in oxidized copper deposits.
Named after the Animikie Formation in Ontario, Canada, where it was first identified. The -ite suffix is standard in mineralogy for naming newly discovered mineral species.
