Ankylosaur

A member of the ankylosaur family, referring to the group of dinosaurs that had fused bones and bony armor plates.

From Greek 'ankylos' (stiff, fused) + 'sauros' (lizard). Paleontologists named this dinosaur group after their distinctive fused skeletal structure, which made their bodies extremely rigid and armor-like, contrasting with more flexible dinosaurs.
