Anovulant

A drug or substance that prevents ovulation, such as certain forms of hormonal birth control.

From Greek 'a-' (without) + 'Latin 'ovulum' (egg) + '-ant' (agent suffix). The term emerged in the mid-20th century with the development of hormonal contraceptives.
