Antarala

In Hindu architecture, a small vestibule or intermediate chamber between the main sanctuary and an outer chamber of a temple.

From Sanskrit 'antara' (between/inner) + '-ala' (suffix indicating a place). Used specifically in Vedic and Hindu temple architecture to describe the transitional space within sacred buildings.
