Antelope

/ˈæn.tɪ.ləʊp/ noun

An antelope is a fast-running, deer-like animal with slender legs and usually horns, found mostly in Africa and parts of Asia. Many species live in herds on grasslands and savannas.

From Old French 'antelop', from Medieval Latin 'ant(h)alopus', possibly from a Greek word for a mythical horned animal. Over time it became the general name for several real species.
