Treating or tending to cure syphilis; relating to medical treatments that combat syphilis.

From anti- (against) + lue (from Late Latin 'lues' meaning plague or syphilis) + -tic (adjective suffix). This medical term emerged in the Renaissance when syphilis was a major European epidemic.
