Apantesis

A meeting or encounter, particularly in ancient Greek religious or philosophical contexts; a confrontation or meeting with opposition.

From Greek apantesis, from apantao ('to meet' or 'to encounter'), composed of apo- ('away') + antao ('to meet'). The term originally referred to formal meetings or processional encounters.
