Aphelion

/əˈfiːliən/ noun

The point in an object's orbit around the sun that is farthest from the sun; the opposite of perihelion.

From New Latin aphelion, coined in the 17th century from Greek apo- (away from) + helios (sun). The term was created to describe orbital mechanics as astronomers studied planetary motion.
