Aphelops

An extinct genus of rhinoceros-like mammals that lived during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs in North America.

From Greek aphis (bristle/hair) + -ops (appearance/eye), referring to the distinctive features visible in fossil evidence. The name was assigned by paleontologists who first classified these fossils.
