Apocrine

Describing a type of gland that secretes substances by pinching off bits of itself, especially sweat glands in your armpits and groin.

From Greek apo- (away, off) + krinein (to separate or secrete). The term was coined in the early 1900s to distinguish this secretion method from other gland types.
