Apterygote

Any individual insect belonging to the Apterygota, a wingless insect such as a springtail or silverfish.

Derived from Greek 'apteros' (wingless) plus '-gote' (a variant suffix form from 'ota'). Used as both singular and plural in scientific nomenclature.
