Aquanauts

Plural of aquanaut; multiple people trained and equipped to live and conduct research underwater in deep-sea habitats.

Plural of 'aquanaut' (from 'aqua' plus Greek 'nautes'). The term became established after successful underwater habitat experiments in the 1960s demonstrated the feasibility of extended human underwater residence.
