Araneida

An alternative or historical taxonomic classification for spiders, sometimes used as a suborder or order designation in older classifications.

Formed from 'aranea' plus the Latin suffix '-ida,' used historically in zoological classification. Modern taxonomy has largely replaced this with 'Araneae,' making it somewhat archaic.
