The quality or state of being Arctic; the condition of extreme coldness or Arctic nature.

From Latin 'arctus' (narrow, tight, cold) combined with '-itude' suffix denoting a state or quality (as in 'latitude,' 'longitude,' 'gratitude'). May be archaic or rare.
