The act of arguing, debating, or engaging in argumentation; a logical argument or line of reasoning.

From Latin 'argutatio,' derived from 'argutari' (to argue or dispute), related to 'arguo' (to prove or demonstrate). The suffix '-tion' converts the verb form into a noun.
