Aromatize

To make something aromatic or fragrant, or to undergo a chemical change that produces aromatic compounds.

From aroma (Greek origin) plus -ize (suffix meaning 'to make or cause to become'). Created in the 19th century as chemistry developed more sophisticated terms.
