Arratel

An old unit of weight used in Muslim countries, roughly equivalent to 2-3 pounds, also called a rotal or rotl.

From Arabic 'ratt' or 'rotl,' the term traveled through Mediterranean trade routes and was adapted into Spanish and Portuguese as 'arratel.' It remained a standard measurement in commercial and pharmaceutical contexts for centuries.
