Arthroneuralgia

Pain in a joint that originates from or involves the nerves associated with that joint.

Compound of arthron (joint) + neuro- (from Greek neuron, nerve) + -algia (from Greek algos, pain). This medical term developed in the 19th century to distinguish nerve-related joint pain from purely mechanical joint pain.
