Ascomycetal

Relating to or characteristic of ascomycetes, a major group of fungi that produce spores in sac-like structures called asci.

From ascomycete + -al (adjective suffix). The term ascomycete itself combines Greek askos (wineskin) + myces (fungus), developed as microscopy revealed fungal structure in the 1800s.
