Relating to regions, structures, or geological features that do not experience earthquakes or are not affected by seismic waves.

From Greek 'a-' (without) + 'seisma' (earthquake). This became the standard scientific term for describing earthquake-free zones or slip that occurs without detectable seismic waves.
