Not producing spores or lacking the ability to form spores; unable to reproduce via spore formation.

From Greek 'a-' (without) + 'spora' (spore) + '-genous' (suffix meaning 'producing or arising from'). The '-genous' suffix is similar to '-genic' but slightly different in application.
